Introduction

Welcome to The Single Handed Life.  In March 2010 I had a hemmorrhagic stroke in the left side of my brain stem.  Over time the nerves that died in my brain stem coninued to die "downstream" in my cerebellum leaving gross tremors in both my leg and arm redering them useless for all the things I want to do.  (I have limited feeling on my right side, also.)  I have double vision and "bouncy eyes" which are also  a result of nerve damage in the brain stem.  My husband is currently seeking more rehab for me (ie, "fighting the system"), but in the mean time I need your input as to what techniques and adaptations will work so I can get back to cooking, photography, quilting, reading and just plain living with my sweet husband.  We have no children.  I am currently 56 years old and my husband is 66.  He has been doing all the cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping and laundry for over a year with very little help from wobbly me, but it is time that I learn to do what I CAN do.

So jump right in and give your suggestions!
